Level 1 CrossFit Instructor, Registered Yoga Instructor
Phil has been Crossfitting since 2007 and has witnessed the growth of CrossFit from a small athletic community to a global phenomenon. He still believes that CrossFit is the best way to develop a foundation of fitness that will invariably promote a healthier and happier lifestyle. He is Level 1 certified instructor and has gone on to attend numerous other certifications to gain a deeper understanding of the methodologies that compose the foundation of CrossFit. He understands that "fitness" is comprised of many components and has even spent time studying yoga to became a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200). What's important though is that he is not afraid to explore every facet of fitness and health so that he can share what he has learned with you. The bottom line is that Phil doesn't take himself very seriously, but he seriously cares about your fitness and health.
Level 1 CrossFit Instructor
Although she never played high school or college sports, CrossFit has had a profound impact on Elizabeth's life by bringing out the competitive athlete that was waiting to emerge. Her passion for Crossfit directly led to her obtaining a Level 1 Instructor certification in early 2011. Additionally, she is committed to further expanding her knowledge of fitness, nutrition and coaching by pursuing her CrossFit Olympic Lifting, Endurance and Nutrition certifications over the next 12 months. Elizabeth is testament to how dedication and persistence can take anyone to levels of athletic performance once deemed unthinkable and she is very excited to share what she has learned with the CrossFit Laguna Niguel community.
Level 1 CrossFit Instructor
After finishing my four-year rowing career in 2010, I discovered CrossFit and immediately fell in love with the sport. Being a former competitive athlete who craves challenges, I found CrossFit’s unique combination of strength and skills addicting and soon began competing in local competitions; ultimately, I was a member of a team that competed at the 2012 and 2013 CrossFit Southern California Regional competitions.
I am much more physically, mentally and emotionally stronger athlete than at the beginning of my CrossFit journey. Motivated by my desire to help others experience CrossFit, I became a certified CrossFit Level 1 and Olympic Lifting coach. I use that knowledge daily in my coaching and find it extremely rewarding to work with athletes to help them set and exceed personal health and fitness goals that never seemed possible prior to CrossFit.
LEVEL 1 CrossFit Instructor, NPTI, NSCA-CPT, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor Certification
Being obese at an early age and overweight most of my life, health and fitness was never my strong suit. I would go to the gym regularly, but never achieved the results that I wanted. The time came that I decided to make my own personal health and fitness a priority in my life. I went on to receive a diploma of Personal Training from the National Personal Trainer Institute (NPTI), as well as the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer Certification (NSCA-CPT), and AFAA Group Fitness Instructor Certification. It was during this time that I was introduced to CrossFit and instantly fell in love. I have been CrossFitting since early 2011, and love it now more than ever. CrossFit has improved every facet of my life with benefits extending physical, mental, emotion, and more. It is because of the benefits CrossFit provides that motivates me to coach/prepare athletes for success, both in and out of the box.
I have a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Marital and Family Therapy and use my training in these areas to help people achieve their fitness goals. I believe that as we train our brain, our body will follow. I have learned that in life, it is never a matter of “if” we can do something, only a matter of “when.” Through consistent action and total belief in ourselves anything is possible!
Level 1 CrossFit Instructor
I have been a lifelong competitive athlete who participated in several sports in high school and went on to play Division 1 volleyball at Iowa State on a full scholarship. After graduating with a B.S. degree in Physical Education (with an emphasis in Exercise Science), I spent the next 25 years in the fitness industry coaching, instructing and customizing fitness programs for individuals to meet their fitness goals. I found CrossFit in January 2012 and immediately became addicted the competitive, intense nature of the sport. I have experienced firsthand the profound changes brought about by participating in CrossFit – both mentally and physically. I am very motivated to help others push through barriers to realize they CAN do CrossFit, by seeing the empowerment of someone achieving a personal goal and by witnessing individuals transition to living healthy lifestyles that improve their confidence and self esteem.
