Level 1 CrossFit Instructor, CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certified, PT, DPT

Doctorate of Physical Therapy from USC, Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from SDSU, AFAA Certified Fitness Instructor, CPR & First Aid Certified for the Health Care Provider.

I have been a dancer all my life competing at the high school, college, and pro team level winning two high school national titles and three consecutive college national titles. During that time, I had my fair share of injuries landing me in the physical therapist's office pretty frequently. Working closely with the therapists to get back on stage, I was inspired to help others and pursued a career in Physical Therapy.

I am a California State Board Licensed Physical Therapist. Throughout my education, I was introduced to CrossFit through my fiancé and later my college roommate. The competitive nature inherent to CrossFit really drew me in. As an instructor, I take the same passion and dedication I have in the clinic and transfer it into the gym helping athletes to overcome old injuries and ailments while avoiding new ones.

Currently pursuing, CrossFit Kids and Nutrition Certifications.

Phil has been Crossfitting since 2007 and has witnessed the growth of CrossFit from a small athletic community to a global phenomenon. He still believes that CrossFit is the best way to develop a foundation of fitness that will invariably promote a healthier and happier lifestyle. He is Level 1 certified instructor and has gone on to attend numerous other certifications to gain a deeper understanding of the methodologies that compose the foundation of CrossFit. He understands that "fitness" is comprised of many components and has even spent time studying yoga to became a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200). Level 1 CrossFit Instructor

I have been a lifelong competitive athlete who participated in several sports in high school and went on to play Division 1 volleyball at Iowa State on a full scholarship. After graduating with a B.S. degree in Physical Education (with an emphasis in Exercise Science), I spent the next 25 years in the fitness industry coaching, instructing and customizing fitness programs for individuals to meet their fitness goals. I found CrossFit in January 2012 and immediately became addicted the competitive, intense nature of the sport. I have experienced firsthand the profound changes brought about by participating in CrossFit – both mentally and physically. I am very motivated to help others push through barriers to realize they CAN do CrossFit, by seeing the empowerment of someone achieving a personal goal and by witnessing individuals transition to living healthy lifestyles that improve their confidence and self esteem.

I discovered Crossfit early in 2012 and was instantly hooked as it provided a competitive outlet that I had previously only found in running. Running has played a huge role in my life. My father is a US Track Olympian and Coach to over 200,000 runners and my mother, co-author on many of his books, ran track in college and has completed over 100 marathons. My family owns the oldest running specialty store in the US located in Atlanta, Ga. I won three state titles in High school running the 800M and continued running throughout college at Wake Forest University. I have professionally been a part of the running industry for the past 6 years now working for one of the largest sporting goods brand in the world. I have adapted many of my fathers coaching ideals, as I love helping people reach goals and see them stay injury free throughout their training.
